4:30 Meet at EMEG
4:45 - 5:15 Presentation from EMEG, and talk from an Eagle Scout
5:20 - 6:30 - Planting!
6:30 - finish - Potluck iftar at the maglis

Clothing: Class B Uniform.  Anything that you can get wet and dirty in! There will not be changing rooms, so I suggest bringing a towel to dry off.

Items to Bring: Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a towel, a hat, and maybe a snack. Water shoes are a good idea if you are not a fan of walking through deep mud barefoot.

Suggested donation: 100aed per family to support purchase of the mangrove seeds.

Emirates Marine Environmental Group (EMEG) is a non-profit organization based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Established in 1996 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and leadership awarded to Major Ali Saqer Sultan Al Suwaidi.

 

The Emirates Marine Environmental Group mission is to preserve biodiversity in the United Arab Emirates by:

iv. Promoting environmental education within the local community

v. Conserving fragile ecosystems for future generations

 

The Jebel Ali Marine Reserve on the western border of Dubai is used as a base to develop and organize educational camps for schools, community members and corporate groups in an effort to increase awareness and understanding of regional environmental threats and issues.
